The Wedding March

Someone in my daughter's office was getting married and she asked me to make a card for the happy couple.  I bought the stamp at the autumn show at the SECC in Glasgow and hadn't used it yet.  I really enjoyed making this card, the colours are so soft and lovely.

The card and layers were cut out using the Grand Calibre and Spellbinders Grand Labels One.  The decorative paper is by Craft Creations .  The stamp is a Lili of the Valley stamp called Wedding Couple, and now I have to apologise, I can't find the bit of paper with the Copic numbers on it, SORRY.  The stamp is mounted on the normal sized Labels One and embellished with a Memory Box die cut called Madera Corner and a flower made using Spellbinders Rose Creations dies, I've used a pearl brad for the centre of the flower.  The sentiment is a silver peel off coloured by a Copic marker to match the colour of the card and mounted on a tag from Spellbinders Fancy Tag Three set.

Wish I could find the Copics list for the colours, if I find it when I'm tidying I'll pop it on my next post.  I hope you like this one, I love it.  How come the latest card you've made is always your favourite, this is mine (for the moment).  Have a great weekend.  Hugz, Janice

Birthday Wishes

Yet another shaped card.  Wonder when I'll get fed up with them?  This one is for my Grandson to give to his little girl friend on her birthday (they're six, so no pressure there).

Grand Nesties, as usual.  Grand Circles and Grand Big Scalloped Circles, with a little help from their normal sized namesakes, Standard Circles Large and Big Scalloped Circles Large.  The backing paper is from a pad called Love Tokens, the sentiment is a silver peel off on a Spellbinders tag from the Ribbon Tag Trio Two set, chalked with pink while still in the die, the ribbon is from my stash.  The Big Scalloped Circles have both been lightly chalked with pink around the edges, just to take away from the starkness of the bright white.

The lovely stamp is from Lili of the Valley and coloured with Copics.  She is soooo cute, she always makes a lovely card for little girls.  Clothes: V12,15,17.  RV21,23,25,29. E11,12,15.  Cake: E08,09,11,13,27,35.  C0,1,3.  R81,83,85,89. YR20,21,23.  Hair: E25,31,50.  Skin: E000,00,21.  R20.  The icing on the cake was finished off with Fruit Punch Stickles.  I forgot to say the stamp is called Rosie with Cake.

The flower is lovely, sorry I can't give you any details.  My crafty friend was making them at our craft club and they finished the card perfectly.   Thanks Lesley, you are a darling.  I finished them off in the centre with a Kaiser Crafts large pink pearl.

I hope the weather is as good for you as it is here in East Kilbride, the sky is blue and the sun is shining, and all's well with the world.  They reckon the temp will hit 18 today, which is amazing for Scotland at this time of the year, so I'm off out to the garden in the afternoon and get some tidying and weeding done.  Have a good day.  Hugz, Janice

Sympathy Card

A lovely card for such a sad occasion, hope I don't need this one anytime soon.

Again a lovely shaped card using Grand Nesties Labels One and normal Nesties Label Eight.  The black and silver foliage backing card is from my stash and was bought a long time ago, sorry I don't know who's it is but it's fabulous.  The lovely foliage is Fanciful Flourish from Cheery Lyn Designs, the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.  The sentiment is a silver peel off mounted onto a tag from Spellbinders Fancy Tags Three and the jewels which are hiding a glue mark on the silver mirri card are from Papermania many years ago.

Despite the occasion being a very sad one, I love the card and think it's quite elegant.  Hugz, Janice

LOTV Die Cut Christmas Card

I know I'm early with this but it was soooo cute I couldn't resist.

It's another one of the lovely shaped cards made this time with Go Create XXL Square Frames Frilly #10 dies.

The lovely image is from a die cut sheet called Christmas Kids from Lili of the Valley, it is so gorgeous, they are hard to resist, and not a Copic in sight.  The sentiment is a gold peel off Merry Christmas and is mounted on a Spellbinders Fancy Tags.  Shaped cards made like this are so quick and so easy to make they are a joy and look quite spectacular and I think, elegant and classy.

I hope you like this one, I certainly do.  Hugz, Janice

Poinsettia Christmas

Another lovely die cut card, this time a Christmas one.

The lovely pink background paper is from Daisy Bucket Designs and is called Wrapped Wishes.  The sentiment is a holographic peel-off, a pink one, mounted on to the second smallest Spellbinders Label 8, edged in green Copic marker and a clear Stickles glitter glue.

The flower is Spellbinders Layered Poinsettia in pink and white.  The foliage is Martha Stewart Branch punch and Holly punch, also the nice holly is from Cheery Lyn Dies and is simply called Holly Flourish.

This was a pleasure to make, again nice and easy to put together.  I do hope you like it.  Hugz, Janice

Die Cut Delight

This is a total die cut card, the card is a 6x6 inch pearlised blank in cream.  Most of the dies are from Marianne Designs except the Spellbinders Grand Nesties Creative Book Pages in light brown and the cut out corners from Nellies Multi Frames MFD 027.

This is the first time I've used these lovely corners and I'm well impressed with the result.  I've used chalks on the flower and the doily to give some depth.  I hope you like this one, it was an exceptionally quick card to make.  Hugz, Janice

Pretty Birthday

I've been busy with all my new dies, this card was inspired by Bev Rochester, she's such a wonderful talented lady.  The decorative paper for this card is K&Co , a Brenda Walton design called Small Wonders, the girl pad.  The colours are soooo lovely and soft and they're double sided so no problem for matching.

The sentiment is Lili of the Valley circular sentiment - On Your Birthday.

And now for all the dies.  The base for the card is Grand Nesties Big Scalloped Circles and the matting and layering is Grand Circles.  I've also used Large Scalloped Cricles and Standard Circles Large, the sentiment is Tear Drop Circles.

And now for the foliage and flowers.  The flowers are Spellbinders Rose Creations and the twiddly bits are a Cheery Lyn die - Fanciful Flourish,  The pine branch is Spellbinders Foliage, the other spray of leaves is from Sissix and it's a borrowed die so I don't have a name for that one.

The card took me quite a wee while to do, what with all the cutting out and glueing but for the result you get with these dies, it's not long at all.

I hope you like the card, I am certainly loving this style of card.  I'll be back later in the week with 'YES' another Grand Nesties card.  Hugz, Janice

Unfinished Business

This is the other side of my craft room, the not quite finished side.  The worktop is coming not this Monday but the next and then I'll have to make a decision about wall units versus the existing open shelves.

The temporary worktop put across the base units here is two of the old shelves from the wall, it lets me use the extra counter space just now while we're waiting on the proper kitchen worktop, and gives me somewhere at long last to use my Cricut again.

This side of my room used to be shelves floor to ceiling but that didn't give me more counter space which is what I wanted and so we took out the bottom three shelves and replaced them with base units.

The blue drawers are from Ikea and were bought and decorated when Alex was going through his Donna Dewberry phase.  They now house most of my stamp collection.

The other wee painted Ikea drawers on the left hand side have all my Lili of the Valley stamps.

I would like to get this all completed and then I can really relax and enjoy it, and so can Alex, after all his hard work.  I'll keep you updated, Hugz, Janice

A Craftroom Reborn

My husband has been busy re-doing my craft room over the last few weeks.  Gone are the saggy desks and old wardrobe top boxes, and in their place are lovely new kitchen base units and worktop, and four double wall units.

This is only one half of the room finished, the other side will have to wait a few weeks to get finished, so it's still a work in progress.  I'll keep you updated.  Hugz, Janice

Flights of Fancy

I'm loving the big Grand Nesties and my Grand Calibre, so here is another card using both.

A nice Happy Birthday card using Grand Labels 1, Labels 8, fancy tags and the butterfly is also Spellbinders.

The flowers are from Prima and held together with copper brads. The origins of the stamped swirl stamp set are lost in the mists of time, the only thing I remember is they came from Create and Craft.

The foliage are Spellbinders Floral Flourishes and a Cheery Lynne pine leaf die.

I sure hope you like this card, 'cos I really enjoyed making it, these cards look good but are so quick and easy to make.

I'm going to Glasgow SECC show tomorrow with some crafting friends, I'm soooo looking forward to it.  I don't really need any crafty stuff  but I guess I'll be looking out for some nice dies, maybe some of the Memory Box ones, they look gorgeous.  Hugz, Janice

Invitation To Tea

I think I've forgotten how to blog,  I haven't posted since last June.  So here goes.........

This is an invitation for my sister to come to afternoon tea, we only see each other about once a year if we're lucky.  She is in the States just now visiting her son, so this will be waiting for her when she gets home.    It's the first of this kind of card I've made and I really like it.  Thanks to Bev Rochester for the inspiration, she makes such lovely cards, I'm always soooo envious.

I've been practicing with my Grand Calibre and my Grand Nesties, this is the first shaped card I've tried, and I love it.  I think it's very elegant, at least that was the look I was going for.  The base is Grand Labels 1 and the decorative paper is Victoria and Albert, Hanoverian Linen.

The foilage is Martha Stewart branch and frond punches and the flower is a Marianne die.  The lovely foilage flourish is from Cheery Lynne dies and is called Fanciful Flourish and I just adore it, I can see this on many, many cards coming up soon (I hope).

The sentiment is on a Label Five nestie, nesties are a fabulous invention, so versatile, sooo easy to use.  I hope you like this card as much as I do.
