Snow Family

Another Christmas card, this time it's a Penny Black stamp I've not used in ages.  It's time to start revisiting all the 'stuff' I've not used in a while.

I can't give you any details on the paper, it's from my stash and must be at least four or five years old.  I didn't have any pink card to match my image, so white card was used and coloured in at the edge bits with the same pink Copic I used on the image.  The image was stamped, coloured with Copics and die cut using Labels One, for the shading at the edges I used chalks.  The sentiment is LOTV Christmas Circular Sentiments, matted and layered with Standard Circles Large and Small.  The other die cuts are by Memory Box and are Frosty Border and Snowflake Corner, I love these wee dies and it's hard not to use them on every Christmas card I make.

The Copic list is small this time B0000,00,02,05.  R81,83,85,89.  YR02,07.  W0,1,2,3,5.

I've popped on some sticky jewels to give a bit of bling.  I love the traditional colours of red, green and gold for Christmas decorating in the house but I would get bored to tears using them for all my Christmas cards.  I thought this was a nice change, blue, pink and white and it let me use up some of my older paper.

Hope you have a good and crafty day.  I'm getting cards ready for both the cardmaking clubs I go to, I like to get everything sorted out, coloured, die cut and all the embellishments ready to go with me.  I usually do, in between all the blethering (chatting), three cards for each class, it takes quite a bit of preparation time but no matter how hard you try, you cannot take your whole craft room with you when you go crafting out in the big wide world.

Pretty Poinsettia

This is the first for this stamp, I bought it last autumn at the SECC and haven't had the time to use it and worse still there are more like it waiting to make their debut.

The decorative paper's origins are so lost in the mists of time it's unreal, I must have bought this years ago and this is not the first card I've made from it, there was only just enough for this wee 6x6 card.  I've used lots of die cuts on this card, the image was stamped onto Spellbinders Labels One and matted and layered with the same.  The sentiment was stamped and matted and layered onto Spellbinders Classic Circles Large and Small, and then matted onto Spellbinders Ironworks Motifs, I've added some small star sticky jewels to give a bit of a lift to the sentiment.  The gold twirly bits (this is a technical term) are from Die-namics Fancy Flourish and the holly is from Cheery Lynn Dies and is called Holly Flourish.  At the top righthand side of the card I've used the smallest of the Spellbinders Ironworks Motifs and I've cut up one of the Fancy Flourishes and arranged it around the motif to balance out the card and added a sticky jewel for some bling.

The stamp is from LOTV and called Pretty Poinsettia and it certainly is very pretty.  She was coloured with the usual suspects, Copics  E00,000,08,09,11,40,41,43.  Y21,23,23.  R20,32,35,37,39.  G24,28,39.  W0,1,2,3,5.  C0,1.  Not a big list for such a lovely image.  The fur trims are as usual trimmed with Glamour Dust, it really shows up so well in the photos and gives such a lot of sparkle to the card.

That's all for this card, I hope you like it as much as I do.  Have a great day.  Hugz, Janice

Die Cut Happy Birthday

Another non Christmas card, I do make occasional ones and when I do I love them and this is no exception.  I love the colours and the delicateness of the die cuts.

The base of the card is an 8x8 Craftwork Cards blank,  matted and layered with their lovely decorative papers from a pack called Cottontail and some matching pearlescent card.

And now for the list of die cuts,  Spellbinders Tear Drop Circles, Standard Circles Large and Rose Creations, Memory Box La Rue Flourish, Fauntleroy Crest, Tilth Floral and Die-namics Fancy Flourish. I had a ball making this card and getting to use all my new dies.

The sentiment is from Lili of the Valley and the dots are Card Candi to match the papers.

I'm off to start my day, first, I have to feed next door's cats, they are away sunning themselves in Portugal.  Then I need to go to B&Q and get a new barbie and some nice sea bream out of the fish shop to go on it.  Some beer for Alex to drink while he's cooking tonight and some salad and good bread to round off the fish.  This will be our first barbie of the year, and I'm really looking forward to it.  The weather here has changed dramatically in the last couple of days, we've gone from barely making it to 7 degrees to having 24 dergress today.  Nice, I love the heat, as long as I have somewhere cool to escape to for a cool down when it gets too warm.  Somewhere in there I have to fit in some washing and ironing, not my favourite jobs.

Hope you have a great day.  Hugz, Janice

Christmas Robin

I love watching the Robins in the garden around Christmas, usually chasing each other rather than getting on with the eating business.  It was a pleasure to make this card.

The image is Kanban and goes perfectly with the blue decorative paper from my stash.  The sentiment is LOTV Christmas Circular Sentiments Set Five.  The buttons I got from a market stall in Morecombe on one of our wee holidays in the caravan.

I am entering this for the following challenges
Crafty Hazelnuts Christmas Challenge - a touch of the blues
Crafty Mess Challenge - Christmas card in non traditional colours

Have a happy and crafty day.  Hugz, Janice

Snowman Trio

The base is white pearlescent card, matted and layered with navy blue and a paper out of my oldest stash folder.  The Snowmen were embossed onto Bazzil card using a Crafts Too embossing folder, and rubbed back using a sanding block.

The sentiment is LOTV Christmas Circular Sentiments Set 5, matted and layered using Spellbinder Classic Circles Large and Classic Scalloped Circles Large.  The Snowflake is also Spellbinders, Create a Flake One.  The snowflake border is from Memory Box and is called Frosty Border, Some little gems have been added to give a little sparkle.

I'm putting this card in for the following challenges.
Winter Wonderland - Embossing
Crafty Hazelnuts Christmas Challenge.73 a touch of blues

Hope you've had a good weekend.  Hugz, Janice

Twinkling Star

Just a quick post today, with yet another Christmas card, it's definitely turning into a Christmas blog.  I would like to enter this card for Crafty Hazelnuts Christmas Challenge  #69 Lots of Layers.

A 6x6 inch base in cream pearlescent card, matted and layered with various shades of cream and red.

Twinkling Star is the name of the stamp from Lili of the Valley and she was coloured in with Copic markers and chalked around the edges in the die (Spellbinders Labels Five) to give a white layered effect.   Not a big Copic list for this one.  Clothes R22,24,27,29. YG91,95,97.  Skin E00,000,11.  R20.  Hair E25,31,50.  Stars Y23,26,28.  Snow C0,1,2.  The fur trim of her clothes has been glued and covered in Glamour Dust, it shows up well in the photo.

The sentiment is from LOTV Christmas Circular Sentiments Set 5, stamped and cut out using Spellbinders Standard Circles Large and Small.  The embellishments are Card Candi from Craftwork Cards.

I'm off to start the day and to give some thought to my son's birthday card, his birthday is on 8th May. I'm on holiday next week in the caravan and I'm not planning on taking any crafting stuff with me, so I need to get cracking and get his card done before I go away.    Hugz, Janice.

Christmas Poinsettia

I made this card for a challenge on Winter Wonderland, this is the first challenge card I've made in over a year.  The challenge is called Pretty In Pink, the card must, of course, be a Christmas card and the main colour must be pink.  So here goes..............

The base for this card was made with Spellbinders Grand Big Scalloped Circles and Grand Circles using the Grand Calibre.  The pink background paper is from Daisy Bucket Designs called Wrapped Wishes - Mistletoe Kisses, I've chalked the outer edges of the scallops with pink to soften the stark white.  The sentiment is a stamp from Lili of the Valley, set 5, Christmas Circular Sentiments.

The other dies used in the card are Big Scalloped Circles Large, Standard Circles Large and Small, Ironworks Motifs, Layered Poinsettia, Cheery Lynn die Holly Flourish and Pine Branches.  The holly leaves are a MS punch and I've filled in the centre of the poinsettia with pink pearls.

All in all, a very pink card.  I hope you like it, I do and the rest of the ladies at the craft club certainly liked it.  Have a good weekend when it comes, I'm off to do some of that dreaded H-------K, has to be done sometime and I'm having visitors on Sunday.  Hugz, Janice

Christmas Snooze

This is beginning to look like a Christmas blog,  Here is a card I made for my husband last Christmas.  Sorry I don't have all the details, it was made last November and I've renovated my craft room since.

It's an easel card, 8X8 from Craftwork Cards, I've distress inked the base with green.  The papers are quite a few years old and from my stash.  I've used the XXL Go Kreate Square Frames Frillys #8 and #10.  The 'All I want for Christmas is you' was computer generated and chalked, I used Spellbinders Labels Ten to mat & layer.  The image was stamped onto Spellbinders Standard Circles Large and Classic Scalloped Circles Large.

The stamp is Christmas Snooze from Lili of the Valley, and was coloured with Copics, sorry I don't have the Copics list.

I thought if I gave him this card he might take the hint and take it easy over the festive period.  Did it work?  A wee bit.  I hope you like this card, it's still one of my favourites.  Have a good what's left of the weekend.  Hugz, Janice

Shine A Light

Another Lili of the Valley stamp bought last autumn and just getting it's first outing.  I bought so many between the SECC, Glasgow and the NEC, Birmingham shows and then didn't have time to use them for last years Christmas cards.

The base for the card was made using Go Creat XXL Frilly Square dies #10, the background decorative paper is by Craft Creations and is called silver border on snowy clouds, quite a mouthful that one.  I stamped onto Spellbinders Petite Ovals Large and mounted it onto Labels 10.

She's a wee cutie holding her Christmas lantern.  I coloured her in with Copics: Clothes B91,93,95.97,99.  Skin E000,00,21.  R20.  Holly G21,24,28,29.  R29.  Crook and lantern C0,1,2,3,5.  YR20,21,23.

I've used Fancy Tags for the silver peel off sentiment, Memory Box, Frosty Border in silver Mirri card to add a little bling and then more bling with clear jewels.  All in all a very pretty Christmas card.

Have a nice evening.  Hugz, Janice

Christmas Dance

Hello again!   I'm amazed at the amount of views that the craft room post racked up, as a group we are all curious about everyone elses craft room/space.  Here in blogland it racked up over 700 views over two days and on Splitcoast Stampers the photos were viewed by about 1200 people.  Amazing!!!!

On to todays post, this is a VERY pretty Christmas card done in non traditional colours.  When I'd finished this one I thought it was the cutiest card I'd ever made, What do you think?

Is this cute or what?  She is a Lili of the Valley stamp called Christmas Dance and I couldn't resist her.  The base for the card was cut out using the Grand Calibre and Grand Big Scalloped Circles and Grand Circles, these dies have been a godsend for making fanastic card bases.  The decorative paper, I think, came from Papermania, one of their Christmas packs from maybe six or seven years ago.  If you recognise it, maybe you can confirm whose it is and does it have a name, let me know.  The image has been matted and layered using Spellbinders Classic Circles Large and Big Scalloped Circles Large.

Not a big Copic list this time.  Clothes V13,15,17.  C0,1,2,3.  Skin E00,000,11.  R20.  Hair C1,3,5,7.  The fur trim has been glued and then I used Glamour Dust to give it some texture and sparkle, although it doesn't show up in the photo.

The sentiment is a silver peel off mounted on a Fancy Tags Three tag, chalked before it came out of the die.  The lovely swirly bits are Die-namics Fancy Flourish and Memory Box Frosty Border, since the large snowflake part would have been below the tag, I cut it off and used it to embellie the top of the card.  I've added some Papermania jewels to give a bit of bling.

I'm off to have some breakfast and go get some food for the weekend, and then do some H*******K.  Sorry for the bad language, I do try to keep it under control but some times it just slips out.  I guess, I have to give in and do some H*******K sometime before the house looks like an absolute tip.

Have a good weekend.  Hugz, Janice

Tobaggan For Two

Not a shaped card today, what a change!  I set out to use some of my new toys with this card and I sure did enjoy making it.

The decorative paper is from Craft House, called Plum Pudding-Brandy Sauce.  I've used the Holly Flourish from Cheery Lynn dies, and for the first time Die-namics Fancy Flourish.  The sentiment is also from LOTV, Christmas Circular Sentiments Set 5 and this is the first time I've used it.  It was stamped on to Spellbinders Standard Circles and matted and layered using the same and also, for the first time, Spellbinders Ironwork Motifs.  I've added some red jewels to jazz up the sentiment a bit, I also used the same jewel on the small version of the Ironwork Motifs and cut another Holly Flourish to pieces to surround it, to help balance out the card a bit more.

The image is LOTV Toboggan For Two, very appropriate today considering it's snowing from the heavens at the moment here in East Kilbride.  The image was stamped and coloured with Copics and matted and layered with Spellbinders Classic Squares Small and Large and then mounted onto a Fleur Di Lis Square.  Copics List - Clothes for the girl R32,35,39. E40,41,43.  Clothes for the boy E13,15,17,18,25,27,29.  R22,24.  YR20,21,23.  YG93,95,97.  Hair E31.  Skin E00,000,21.  R20.  Sledge E31,33,35,37,71,77,79.  Snow W0,1,2.  The presents are coloured using the same reds and yellow reds as the clothes.

That about wraps this post up.  I'm going to go have another wee look at the snow and then it will be almost lunchtime.  Have great day and thanks for looking.  Hugz, Janice

Grandson's Skiing Christmas

Well, I haven't quite gotten fed up with the shaped cards yet.  I know I'm early, extremely, this is Tom's Christmas card.

The card base and layers are cut using Spellbinders Grand Labels One, the decorative paper is Basic Grey, Wassail, Falling Snow.  The sentiment is a gold peel off , mounted on a tag from the Spellbinders Fancy Tags set.

The gorgeous LOTV stamp is called Ski Jump and is coloured with Copics.  It has been mounted on to Labels One normal sized nesties, the two back layers have been through the Grand Calibre with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder.  The snowy peak has been dusted with Glamour, I've added the left over snowflakes from using MS Aspen Snowflakes punch on to the image to give it some depth, I've added little jewels to the middle of them to give a nice sparkle.  Copics used are:  Clothes E1,15,17.  R35,37,39. YG93,95,97.  Y23,26,28.  Skis E40,41,43.  Boots E43,47,49.  Snow C0,1,2.  Skin E000,00,11.  R20.  Sorry I don't seem to have noted the colours for the dog seperately, I suspect they are a mixture of the other E colours I've used.

I hope he likes his card, I'm sure he will, Tom thinks unless it's snowing it's not Christmas, he's only six.  Thanks for looking in at my cards, if you have time, leave a comment and then I'll know you've called in to visit.  Have a good week.  Hugz, Janice

The Wedding March

Someone in my daughter's office was getting married and she asked me to make a card for the happy couple.  I bought the stamp at the autumn show at the SECC in Glasgow and hadn't used it yet.  I really enjoyed making this card, the colours are so soft and lovely.

The card and layers were cut out using the Grand Calibre and Spellbinders Grand Labels One.  The decorative paper is by Craft Creations .  The stamp is a Lili of the Valley stamp called Wedding Couple, and now I have to apologise, I can't find the bit of paper with the Copic numbers on it, SORRY.  The stamp is mounted on the normal sized Labels One and embellished with a Memory Box die cut called Madera Corner and a flower made using Spellbinders Rose Creations dies, I've used a pearl brad for the centre of the flower.  The sentiment is a silver peel off coloured by a Copic marker to match the colour of the card and mounted on a tag from Spellbinders Fancy Tag Three set.

Wish I could find the Copics list for the colours, if I find it when I'm tidying I'll pop it on my next post.  I hope you like this one, I love it.  How come the latest card you've made is always your favourite, this is mine (for the moment).  Have a great weekend.  Hugz, Janice

Birthday Wishes

Yet another shaped card.  Wonder when I'll get fed up with them?  This one is for my Grandson to give to his little girl friend on her birthday (they're six, so no pressure there).

Grand Nesties, as usual.  Grand Circles and Grand Big Scalloped Circles, with a little help from their normal sized namesakes, Standard Circles Large and Big Scalloped Circles Large.  The backing paper is from a pad called Love Tokens, the sentiment is a silver peel off on a Spellbinders tag from the Ribbon Tag Trio Two set, chalked with pink while still in the die, the ribbon is from my stash.  The Big Scalloped Circles have both been lightly chalked with pink around the edges, just to take away from the starkness of the bright white.

The lovely stamp is from Lili of the Valley and coloured with Copics.  She is soooo cute, she always makes a lovely card for little girls.  Clothes: V12,15,17.  RV21,23,25,29. E11,12,15.  Cake: E08,09,11,13,27,35.  C0,1,3.  R81,83,85,89. YR20,21,23.  Hair: E25,31,50.  Skin: E000,00,21.  R20.  The icing on the cake was finished off with Fruit Punch Stickles.  I forgot to say the stamp is called Rosie with Cake.

The flower is lovely, sorry I can't give you any details.  My crafty friend was making them at our craft club and they finished the card perfectly.   Thanks Lesley, you are a darling.  I finished them off in the centre with a Kaiser Crafts large pink pearl.

I hope the weather is as good for you as it is here in East Kilbride, the sky is blue and the sun is shining, and all's well with the world.  They reckon the temp will hit 18 today, which is amazing for Scotland at this time of the year, so I'm off out to the garden in the afternoon and get some tidying and weeding done.  Have a good day.  Hugz, Janice

LOTV Die Cut Christmas Card

I know I'm early with this but it was soooo cute I couldn't resist.

It's another one of the lovely shaped cards made this time with Go Create XXL Square Frames Frilly #10 dies.

The lovely image is from a die cut sheet called Christmas Kids from Lili of the Valley, it is so gorgeous, they are hard to resist, and not a Copic in sight.  The sentiment is a gold peel off Merry Christmas and is mounted on a Spellbinders Fancy Tags.  Shaped cards made like this are so quick and so easy to make they are a joy and look quite spectacular and I think, elegant and classy.

I hope you like this one, I certainly do.  Hugz, Janice
