Pretty Poinsettia

This is the first for this stamp, I bought it last autumn at the SECC and haven't had the time to use it and worse still there are more like it waiting to make their debut.

The decorative paper's origins are so lost in the mists of time it's unreal, I must have bought this years ago and this is not the first card I've made from it, there was only just enough for this wee 6x6 card.  I've used lots of die cuts on this card, the image was stamped onto Spellbinders Labels One and matted and layered with the same.  The sentiment was stamped and matted and layered onto Spellbinders Classic Circles Large and Small, and then matted onto Spellbinders Ironworks Motifs, I've added some small star sticky jewels to give a bit of a lift to the sentiment.  The gold twirly bits (this is a technical term) are from Die-namics Fancy Flourish and the holly is from Cheery Lynn Dies and is called Holly Flourish.  At the top righthand side of the card I've used the smallest of the Spellbinders Ironworks Motifs and I've cut up one of the Fancy Flourishes and arranged it around the motif to balance out the card and added a sticky jewel for some bling.

The stamp is from LOTV and called Pretty Poinsettia and it certainly is very pretty.  She was coloured with the usual suspects, Copics  E00,000,08,09,11,40,41,43.  Y21,23,23.  R20,32,35,37,39.  G24,28,39.  W0,1,2,3,5.  C0,1.  Not a big list for such a lovely image.  The fur trims are as usual trimmed with Glamour Dust, it really shows up so well in the photos and gives such a lot of sparkle to the card.

That's all for this card, I hope you like it as much as I do.  Have a great day.  Hugz, Janice

All in a Row

Hasn't this weather been beautiful, absolutely gorgeous, but it does play havock with the card making.  I want to be out in the sun all the time and not stuck indoors.  Yesterday was the last sunny and hot day of our little heatwave, so today I need to catch up with all the things I have been neglecting, a busy day then.  Lets get started, todays offering is another 8x8 card base from Craftwork Cards, I've gone with the traditional red, gold and green theme.  The red starry paper is by Paper Adventures and was bought more years ago than I care to remember, the greens however are more up to date and come from a paper pack bought last year called Henbury Lane, Poinsettia pack by Papermania. The colours all go perfectly together, very warm, cozy and Christmassy.

The stamp is from LOTV called All in a Row, it's soo cute and lovely to colour.  I used the usual suspects, aka Copics and here is the list, Clothes - Y21,23,26. YG93,95,97. R35,37,39.  E31,33,35,37.  Hair - E31,35.  YR20.  Skin - E11,11,000. R20.  Holly - G26,28. R39.  Snow and shadow W0,1,2,3.

The die cuts are Spellbinders Large Labels, Standard Circles Large and Small.  The gorgeous corners are from Memory Box and is called Snowflake Corner, I've also used the Frosty Border and trimmed it to fit.  The sentiment is LOTV Circular Sentiments, Christmas Set Five.  I've popped on a few sticky jewels just to round off the design and give more sparkle.

I hope you like this cards, it's one of my favourites, I love the papers and the traditional colours but the stamp gives a modern look.

Have a great day.  Hugz, Janice

Die Cut Happy Birthday

Another non Christmas card, I do make occasional ones and when I do I love them and this is no exception.  I love the colours and the delicateness of the die cuts.

The base of the card is an 8x8 Craftwork Cards blank,  matted and layered with their lovely decorative papers from a pack called Cottontail and some matching pearlescent card.

And now for the list of die cuts,  Spellbinders Tear Drop Circles, Standard Circles Large and Rose Creations, Memory Box La Rue Flourish, Fauntleroy Crest, Tilth Floral and Die-namics Fancy Flourish. I had a ball making this card and getting to use all my new dies.

The sentiment is from Lili of the Valley and the dots are Card Candi to match the papers.

I'm off to start my day, first, I have to feed next door's cats, they are away sunning themselves in Portugal.  Then I need to go to B&Q and get a new barbie and some nice sea bream out of the fish shop to go on it.  Some beer for Alex to drink while he's cooking tonight and some salad and good bread to round off the fish.  This will be our first barbie of the year, and I'm really looking forward to it.  The weather here has changed dramatically in the last couple of days, we've gone from barely making it to 7 degrees to having 24 dergress today.  Nice, I love the heat, as long as I have somewhere cool to escape to for a cool down when it gets too warm.  Somewhere in there I have to fit in some washing and ironing, not my favourite jobs.

Hope you have a great day.  Hugz, Janice

Christmas Robin

I love watching the Robins in the garden around Christmas, usually chasing each other rather than getting on with the eating business.  It was a pleasure to make this card.

The image is Kanban and goes perfectly with the blue decorative paper from my stash.  The sentiment is LOTV Christmas Circular Sentiments Set Five.  The buttons I got from a market stall in Morecombe on one of our wee holidays in the caravan.

I am entering this for the following challenges

Snowman Trio

The base is white pearlescent card, matted and layered with navy blue and a paper out of my oldest stash folder.  The Snowmen were embossed onto Bazzil card using a Crafts Too embossing folder, and rubbed back using a sanding block.

The sentiment is LOTV Christmas Circular Sentiments Set 5, matted and layered using Spellbinder Classic Circles Large and Classic Scalloped Circles Large.  The Snowflake is also Spellbinders, Create a Flake One.  The snowflake border is from Memory Box and is called Frosty Border, Some little gems have been added to give a little sparkle.

I'm putting this card in for the following challenges.

Christmas Candle

This was the first 8X8 card I made and it's for my daughter and her husband.  The base is by Craftwork Cards, the card and paper are from my stash and needed used up before I buy anymore, ha-ha.

The die-cuts I've used are Go Kreate XXL Square Frames Frilly #10 and Spellbinder Lattice Rectangles.  The Stamp is Penny Black and is called Xmas Light, I used Versa Mark and silver embossing powder to heat emboss the image, something I've not done for a few years.  I love this stamp and it's so easy to use it had to be brought out of retirement.  I've popped on some sticky jewels just to round off the design.  I especially love the colour combo of this card and I adore the Go Kreate XXL dies, they're brilliant, this one makes the card look very classy.

I'm putting this card in for a couple of challenges.

Christmas Bears

Sorry, I've not posted for a while, my mojo has gone south for the winter (again).  It certainly feels like winter here in East Kilbride, the temps have been averaging out at about 8 or 9 degrees, which makes it feel like February or March and it's not improving any.  Now I've gotten my little moan out of the way, we can get on with the business of cardmaking.

This was a very quick and easy card to put together.  The bears are an image from Kanban, so no colouring there, cut out with Spellbinders Standard Circles and matted and layered using both large and small circles and also Big Scalloped Circles Large.  The base of the card was cut using Grand Big Scalloped Circles and Grand Circles.

The tag is from Spellbinders Fancy Tags, the sentiment is a silver peel-off.   The snowflake border is by Memory Box and is called Frosty Border, love this die and use it at every opportunity, it's brilliant.  The other snowflakes are Spellbinders Create a Flake Three with some clear sticky jewels to make them pop.

That's all for today, and guess what, it's cold and rainy again, although the rain is supposed to dry up this morning.  Hope you all have a great weekend and I hope the weather is better where you are.  Happy crafting, hugz, Janice

Andy's Birthday Card

This is soooo not a Christmas card, all I seem to have made lately are Christmas cards.  It is my darling son's birthday card and his birthday is today. 'Happy Birthday Andy'.

The card base consists of three layers using Grand Labels One.  Pale brown pearlescent card, gold mirri card and brown card with gold embossing from, I think, Hunkydory.  The same layers, only using the normal size of Labels One, hold the focal point.  I just love this choccy sentiment, it's also Hunkydory,  and was matted and layered using gold mirri card.  The Happy Birthday which is mounted on a tag from Fancy Tags Three is from Hunkydory and came on the same sheet as the choccy sayings.  I hope he likes it.

I am going to enter this in the Craftycardmakers challenge for boys and also Come and get it challenge - Lets hear it for the boys

Have a good evening, I'm off to make the dinner before my hubby gets in from work.  Hugz, Janice.
