Christmas Kiss

I know it's another Christmas card but my house is still a craft free zone.  This is the third day of a two day kitchen fit and it still won't be finished today.

The stamp is from Buzzcraft and is from the Bear Essentials set.  It's been stamped and coloured in with Copics.  The Spellbinders are Big Scalloped Ovals Large and Big Scalloped Circles Large.  The snowflake border is Martha Stewart punch around the page Aspen Snowflake.  The sentiment is done with silver peelies.

I like the soft grey blues of the background paper, I have used some of the punched out snowflakes with jewels to give a bit of bling to what is after all a very plain paper.

I hope you're having a better day than me, this kitchen should have been finished yesterday, I can't wait.  Hugz, Janice

Happy Christmas Choir

Another lovely Lily of the Valley stamp.  I made this a wee while ago, can't really do much when the kitchen fitters are in.

I can't give you much in the way of details on the card.  It's a LOTV Christmas Choir stamp, coloured with Copics.  The Spellbinders are Labels Eight and Fancy Tags.  The Happy Christmas is a peel off and the dots are holographic dots in green and red.

Until the kitchen is complete and everything back to normal, this house is a craft free zone.  We had two fitters and two electricians this morning but now we only have the fitters, although the electrics aren't finished yet.  The kitchen was supposed to be finished today but looks like it's going to carry over until tomorrow.  Wish me luck, I just want a working sink and a cooker I can use.  Happy crafting, Janice

Snow Family Christmas

Another quick post.  I don't have the Copics list for this card, the image was coloured a while ago.  The stamp is by Stamps Happen Inc.  and is called Snowman collection.

This is supposed to be day one for the kitchen fitters but instead of three fitters and an electrician arriving, only one fitter and no electrician arrived.  Tomorrow was supposed to be the last day but doesn't look like it now.  I'm feeling very grumpy.  Hugz, Janice

Copper Butterfly

I made this ages ago after a visit to the Glasgow Craft Show.  I picked up some crafty wire mesh at the show and used it to cut out the butterfly.

The corners are Spellbinders Photo Corners and the oval is a Cuttlebug cut & emboss die set.  I really like the soft colours which match perfectly with the copper mesh.  I must look for the rest of the mesh, it really is great stuff, easy to use.

This is a very short post I know.  My kitchen was delivered today and the fitters are coming tomorrow to start work.  Right now, I have nothing in the kitchen except for my fridge freezer and cooker, there is no sink and no water, no cupboards either.  I am looking forward to tomorrow and dreading it at the same time.  Hugz, Janice

Study in Red

I made this to a sketch provided by Sugar Nellie's challenge site - The Sugar Bowl , the theme was to include buttons.  And so this is my entry.

I've been not so patiently waiting for a chance to use the beautiful Lasting Impressions Poppy Fleur paper, and this seemed an ideal choice.  The stamp is from Sugar Nellie's Autumn Kit 2009, stamped and coloured with copics.  The only Spellbinder used today was the lovely butterfly.  The jewels and flowers were from my stash.  Copics used:  Hair E35.  Skin E0000,00,11. R20.  Clothes E11,33,50,51,53. Y15. R22,46,59.  Rake, leaves and hedgehog E08,33,35,37,50,53,57. YR23. YG95.

I'm entering this card for the Sugar Bowl Challenge 58 - Marlena's Sketch
and also Stamp Challenges - buttons, flowers & sparkle
It was strange to make up a card to someone else's design but I enjoyed it, and the stamp was an absolute dream to colour.  Well, only a few more days 'til the new kitchen goes in.  The old one is almost all out and my husband is plastering the walls ready for the kitchen fitters, and fitting the old units into our garage for some better storage there.  Happy crafting.  Hugz, Janice

Janette's Birthday

This is a card I made for my friend Janette for her birthday.

This was my very first attempt at using flowers on my cards.  For a first shot it's not too bad.  The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. the Spellbinders is Labels Five, the pearls are from Kaiser Crafts.  The Happy Birthday and lettering are peelies.  Unfortunately, I don't have a name for the paper but I do know I bought it at Craft World, it has the most wonderfully muted colours and is glittered, it's just gorgeous.

Well, it's back to the kitchen for me, it's now less than a week until B&Q fit the new kitchen.  There's still lots of work to do before then and the floor units still have to come out.  Happy crafting.  Hugz, Janice

Floral Happy Birthday

A very quick post today, about a very quick card to make.

A card made mainly on the Cuttlebug.  The corners are a Cuttlebug die, the Spellbinders is Eyelet Circles, the oak leaves are from Joy Crafts die and the pine branch is a punch, and the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.  The Happy Birthday is a very old stamp, one of my oldest, sorry no name on it, I chalked the edge of the Eyelet Circle when it was still in the die.

Hope you like this one, it is one of my favourites.  Hugz, Janice

Christmas Mouse

I love the beautiful soft colours of this card, and of course, the mouse is a wee cutie.  I made the card at the craft club meeting last night, that was the one and only card I made in three hours.  There was more blethering (chatting) going on than card making.

The stamp is from Penny Black called Thinking Of You and was stamped and coloured with the usual suspects....... Copics.  What would I do without them?  The Spellbinders are Large Labels, Create A Flake One and Snowflake Wonder.  The snowflakes were cut using glitter card in matching colours to the matting and layering.  The pearls were a mixture of Papermania, Kaiser Craft and Wild Orchid Crafts.  The Martha Stewart punch around the page is Aspen Snowflake.  The wee guys pompom and trim on his hat were given a coat of glue and Glamour Dust to give a little more bling.

I'm entering this one into Christmas Card Challenge No. 20
and also ABC Challenge - S is for Sparkle
Cute Card Thursday Challenge - No Text

Well, I'm back into kitchen stuff today again, emptying more cupboards and trying to find places around the house to put the stuff until after the kitchen is complete. Happy days!!!!  Hugz, Janice

Joy to the World

This is another older stamp - JOY from Inkadinkado, it's another one I use every year.

As usual, I stamped the image on pearlised card using a Memento Tuxedo Black inkpad and coloured with Copics.  The Spellbinders used are Labels Eight, Large Labels and Labels Five, The Martha Stewart punch around the page is Vintage Lace.  I've embellished with Stickles Crystal Ice, Craftworks Candi and holographic peel off dots.  Copics list:  R22,44,59. Y38. YG00,03,63,67. not a long list this time.

I'm off to our craft club tonight, so today will be spent getting my stuff gathered together, and making sure I don't forget anything.  And, of course, still trying to empty kitchen cupboards, one week today the new kitchen will get fitted.  Can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Happy crafting.  Hugz, Janice

ps I'm putting this in for Christmas Card Challenges no. 20 - anything goes

Birthday Girl

This will be a very quick post today.  This is a card I made a wee while ago and unfortunately I don't have a list for the Copics.  I hope you like this card, I think it's adorable and I just love the colours.

Both the main image and also the sentiment stamps are Lily of the Valley and our little cutie was coloured with Copics.  The Spellbinders are Labels Five, Standard Circles Large and Classic Scalloped Circles Large.  The pearls are from Kaiser Crafts and I embellished on the cake and around the edges of the spellbinders with Stickles.

Have a happy Monday and keep crafting.  Hugz, Janice

Flutterbye Dreams

I seem to use my Spellbinders more and more these days.  It used to be my Cricut and I said to my husband "I won't need these Spellbinders, when I can cut out the shapes I want on my wonderful Cricut".  Boy!  What a liar I turned out to be.  I am sitting in my craft room just now and I can't see a card that doesn't have some input from my Spellbinders.  Just goes to show, you don't know what's around the corner.

The background paper comes from a pad by Papermania called Sugar & Spice from Craft World, the card for matting and layering came from my stash, mostly from The Papeterie.  The Spellbinders are Scalloped Circles Large and also the main butterflies are Spellbinders from Craft World, the small ones in the corners are from Marianne Dies.  The Happy Birthday is a gold peel off and I've finished off with pearls from Kaiser Craft, jewels from Papermania and Candi from Craftwork Cards.  I hope you like this one I certainly do, it turned out better than I thought.  Happy crafting.  Hugz, Janice

Floral Any Occasion

I wanted another shot at making my own flower, and so this card was born.  I have used other flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts but the main flower was made by me and my Spellbinders.  It's a good way to get a matching flower for your background paper.

It's all yellow, blue and green, sorry I don't have a name for the paper.  The Spellbinders used are Large Scalloped Ovals and Petite Ovals Large.  The corner twiddly bits are from Cuttlebug.  The flower was made from layers of Large Scalloped Circles.  The leaves are made from Marianne dies and Joy Crafts dies.  The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and I've used a brad from my stash for the middle of the flower.  I'm going to enter this card in the For Fun Challenges - colour challenge

I'm going to get some Christmas designs stamped and hopefully coloured today, I'm well behind on my quota.  Over the year I make enough Christmas cards for me to send to friends and family and also my friends at the craft club,  I also make for my daughter and for my husband for work colleagues.  There is usually some for charity as well and this comes to between 150 and 200.  They are all different, I don't usually make two the same, where would be the fun in that?  So I think I had better get on and get some more ready.  Have a good and crafty day.  Hugz, Janice

Elegant Snowman

This is one of my oldest and still favourite stamps, unfortunately there are no manufacturers details on the stamp at all, a bit strange.  He is about 9 years or so old and probably bought from QVC, as we didn't have a lot of craft shops around here.  He is such a jolly snowman, I use him every year for at least a few of my Christmas cards and here he is again.

The background paper is from Bo Bunny called a Gift of Love bought from my local craft shop, Craft World.  The Spellbinders are Classic Squares Small and Lacey Squares, the punch is Martha Stewart Punch Around the Page Vintage Lace, also bought from Craft World.  The ribbon is from my stash, as are the little jewels.  The snowman was coloured with Copics:  Hat C3,5,7. G17. R59.  Nose R02,05.  Scarf, gloves and waistcoat R22,46,59. YG03,63,67.  Candy cane R46. Shading for snow B60.

I'm putting him in for Bah Humbug Challenge 14 Candy Canes and also Christmas Card Challenge 19 - Bow so wish me luck.

My daughter and grandson are coming over today, so my day will be a bit busier than usual.  I think we are going to go down to Ayr on the coast, probably a wee walk along the shore and lunch at the garden centre.  Have a good day and enjoy your crafting.  Hugz, Janice

Snow Time

Back to the size of card I like the best, 6X6 square, with the cutest snowman from Lily of the Valley.  I bought a new punch from Craft World at the weekend, so I just had to use it on this card.

The stamp is, of course, Lily of the Valley Mr Snowman and, cute little thing that he is, he's coloured with Copics.  The Spellbinders today are Classic Squares Small and Labels One, the Martha Stewart punch is Vintage Lace.  The background paper is OLD and I don't have a name to go with it.  There are peel off borders and circles to decorate.  Copics:  Hat & scarf  R22,46,59. Black, C3,5,7.  Body & nose YR02,04.  B60.  Present & baubles G02,05,07. Y15.  Shadows & snow B60. W1.

I'm going to put this card into Winter Wonderland Challenge

My craft room looks like it's badly in need of a tidy up and maybe some different storage solutions for my evergrowing collection of ribbons, not all of them are on spools, most of them are just a metre of this and that.  And my flower collection needs reorganising, sounds like a job for today.  Now I have my day organised, I'm off to make an early start.  Have a crafty day and enjoy yourself.  Hugz, Janice.

Kanban Butterfly

This is a Kanban card, I've had the lovely card and die-cut butterfly for months and not used it.  My husband was out fishing yesterday for a couple of hours and I wanted to make a card that I could finish before he got back, and then he could photo it for me.

Not my usual 6X6 card but an A4 sheet of card halved to make a C5 card, I don't usually go with ready made blanks because I like to mat and layer with the same matching card.  The main image is a Kanban die cut butterfly  called Autumn Butterfly Coffee, and the matching card is Autumn Leaves Copper Small, which I've matted on to shiny gold mirri card.   The Spellbinders are Large Scalloped Circles, Standard Circles Large and the Fancy Tags set.  The ribbon is from my stash as are the pearls from Kaiser Crafts and the sentiment is a peel off.

Well, that's us back to the beginning of another week, I hope you all enjoyed the weekend weather, it was gorgeous here with temps at around 21C, felt like summertime.   Have a good and crafty day.  Hugz, Janice.

Quick and Easy

This is a nice, quick and easy card, using mostly Spellbinders and a wee bit of decoupage.

The flower is from Anita's Glittered Decoupage, sorry I don't have a specific name.  The Spellbinders are Lacey Squares and Fanciful Holiday set.  Some ribbon, jewels and paper from my stash.  What could be easier and nicer to produce a quick but stylish card.
It's rather a quick post today, I'm heading out into the sunshine to do a wee tidy up in the garden.  My other half has gone up the river fishing for a couple of hours and I think I'd like to be outside as well.  Hope the rest of the weekend is good for you.  Hugz, Janice

Peachy Keane

This is the first time I've tried to make a card up for a challenge, rather than putting in a card I've already made.  Not sooo happy with this, it didn't turn out so well.  It will go into the Lily of the Valley challenge - peach & green.

Peach is not a colour I've used very much, so I had to search the stash in desperation to find something.  The paper is from a magazine I've had at some point in the dim & distant past and I've torn it out and stored it away.  The Spellbinders are Eyelet Circles and Standard Circles Large.  The image is Lily of the Valley - Fairies On Tiptoe, stamped and coloured with Copics.  The flowers are mainly from Wild Orchid Crafts and the pearls are from Kaiser Crafts, Ice Green.  Copics - Clothes R00,02,05. G21. YG11,63,67.  Skin E0000,00,11. R20.  Hair E33,51.  Flowers R00,02,05. G21,85,94.  Yg67,91.

This is only the second time I've entered the LOTV challenge, so wish me luck.  Have a great and very crafty weekend.  Hugz, Janice

A Day Full Of Happiness

This is a card I made last night at my craft club meeting.  I love the soft colours and how they all blend together.  I had a bit of a disappointment when I started the card, the round sentiment stamp is from an A4 sheet by Lily of the Valley.  I bought the sheet at the Glasgow spring craft show from the  LOTV stand and it should have been the Christmas sentiments, however, when I opened it, although the accompanying acetate sheet has the Christmas sentiments on it, the clear stamps themselves were the Dreamy Days sentiments.  Not a disaster as I was going to be buying them anyway but an inconvenience, I have ordered the Christmas sentiments from the LOTV website, and I will check this time that I've got the right stamps.

The beautiful background card is from Kanban, English Riviera Rose, lilac, it's gorgeous, isn't it?  The Spellbinders dies are the  Classic Scalloped Circles Large, the Standard Circles Large and the lovely corner twiddily bits are from the Fanciful Holiday set.  The center doily is a Marianne die, my friend Lesley cut this out for me to use a few weeks ago at our craft club and this is me just getting around to using it, I think I may have to get this one myself.  The sentiment is LOTV  from Set 6 - Dreamy Days Sentiments, stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black.  I've used some matching gems to add a little bling, they really give the card a lift.  All in all, an easy and quick card to make.

I hope you like this card, if you do, be sure to leave a comment or use the reactions buttoms at the bottom of the post.  Have a good weekend.  Hugz, Janice.

Tea For Two

This is a cute little Lily of the Valley card.  I stamped and coloured the image before I gathered together the paper and embellishments for the card and gave myself a headache trying to match things up.  The pink paper looks nice but it's also kinda peachy as well as pink, well, you know what I mean.  It's not pinky pinky, very hard to match.

I'm sorry, I've lost the Copic list for this one but here is what I do know.  The punch is Martha Stewart Double Loops, the Spellbinders are Large Scalloped Circles, Standard Circles Large and Large Labels.  The main image and the sentiment are both from that wonderful company called Lily of the Valley.  The pearls are from Wild Orchid Crafts, the bow was readymade from Papermania bought from Craft World, my local and for me the best craft shop ever.

I hope you like this latest offering, I had fun making it, even though it was a bit frustrating trying to match up the pink.  I'm having a quiet day today, this is the craft club meeting tonight and I need to gather up my 'stuff' to take with me.  I usually try to make about three cards in the three hours, so I need to do all the matching and organising beforehand, can't take all my craft room with me, can I?  We have a great craft club, well, not so much a club, I suppose, as a gathering of like minded people.  We all bring whatever we want to make and then spend most of our time blethering (chatting, for the non-scots), we are very noisy but have great fun and I do enjoy myself.  Have a great day, the weather has finally cleared up here in East Kilbride and for the moment it looks nice and sunny.  Hugz, Janice.

Treasured Christmas Candle

Another LOTV cutie Christmas stamp.  Back to my New Year Resolution again, using up older 'stuff', the paper is maybe 6 or 7 years old and I haven't used any for the past three years at least.

The stamp is LOTV Christmas Candle, stamped on white pearlescent card using Memento Tuxedo Black and coloured with Copics.  The Spellbinders die is Eyelet Squares, threaded with ribbon and decorated with red holographic square  peel offs, and jewels in the corners.  I used border peeloff strips around the edge of the paper because it looked too unfinished and needed that little something.  Copics list:  Clothes R22,46,59. G07,28.  E00,33,35.  Skin R20. E0000,00,11.  Hair E31,33.  Candle & Holly G21,99. Y21,28. YR31. R59.

That's it for today, I'm off up to my daughter's this morning for a spot of clothes shopping at M&S at the Gyle in Edinburgh.  Have a good and crafty day.  Hugz, Janice

Flutterbyes & Pearls

This is an out and out Cuttlebug card, no getting away from it.  My mojo had gone awandering again and I couldn't think what to do, well, for good or for bad, this is it.

The Spellbinders dies are Fair Isle Pendant and Photocorners.  The butterflies are from Marianne, I bought them at the weekend.  It's a set of four and they are just what I'd been looking for, small but open butterflies but not a punch.  As you can see the card is liberally decorated with Kaiser Craft pearls.  It looked very stark when I'd finished, so I used some chalk to soften up the edges a wee bit.

That's it for today, have a really good crafty day.  Hugz, Janice

ps  I'm going to enter this card for A Spoon Full Of Sugar Challenge
     and also Papertake Weekly Challenge

A Wee Cutie

This is just a quick post, too much to do today and as usual not enough time.  I don't work anymore but I still have no time, I don't know where it disappears to.  This is a card I made a wee while ago and my daughter has already appropriated it to give to someone.  So here goes and I hope you like it.

I don't remember too many details about this one, my memory is really rotten these days, I think my head is full of dandelion fluff.  The stamp is LOTV - Dandelion Clock and the sentiment is also LOTV.  I used Copics to colour in the image but I don't have a list.  The butterfly is a Spellbinders die.

Sorry, I'm a wee bit short on detail, I hope the nice card makes up for it.  Now I must go and do that horrible thing called HOUSEWORK, starting with the ironing.  Have a good day.  Hugz, Janice

Christmas Time Again

I thought I would do the Lily of the Valley Skating Along stamp in more traditional colours this time.  I really enjoyed making this, I started the card on Friday morning at the craft club and finished it on Saturday.

Again the origin of the paper is lost in the mists of time.  The  Spellbinders die used was Labels Eight and the Martha Stewart punch was Aspen Snowflake.  The ribbons and jewels are from my stash and the sentiment is a peelie.  The image was coloured with Copics: Clothes R22,45,59.  Bags G21,99.  YG63,67.   R22,45.
skin & hair R20,E0000,33.  Dog E33,35,37,50,51,53,95.  Skates B60. W1,3. C3.

This was a great card to make, enjoyable and easy and very traditional.  Hope you like it, I love the LOTV stamps, they are all sooo cute.  Enjoy what's left of your weekend.  Hugz, Janice.

Mother's Day Card

I would like to share with you the card my daughter made for me for Mother's Day.  She has made cards for a number of years but this is the first time she has gone for 'my style' of card and it is soooo lovely.

The butterfly and Eyelet Circles are Spellbinders.  I hope you like this as much as I do, I think it's wonderful.  Hugz, Janice.  I'm going to enter this card in the The Play Date Cafe Challenge #75.  It would be really nice if her card wins, she would be thrilled to bits.
